We often calculate Test Mods for employers of all types so that they can properly budget for their next few years Workers Comp expenditures. There are many software packages that will calculate Test Mods such as ModMaster. My favorite is the one at ncci.com.

There is an infinite number of combinations of variables in calculating Test Mods. You can change the year of the claim, amount of the claim, states in which you do business, payroll, etc.

The test mods are just that - an educated guess at what your E-Mod/X-mod/Ex-Mod will be for usually the next policy year. Test Mods are not usually calculated by the NCCI or your state's rating bureau.
